Product Description
There are several colours and varieties of lentil split dal. The husk is removed from the raw lentils and the pulses are split to create split lentil dal in processing facilities. The edible pulse is known as the lentil (Lens culinary). It is a bushy annual plant from the family of legumes, and its seeds have a lens-like structure.
Types Of Lentil Split Dal
- Split Red Lentil: The whole red lentil is split to get split red lentils. The reddish-orange seed is divided into two halves once the skin has been removed.
- Split Green Lentil: Split green lentils are distinguishable by their oversized, flat form. While they take a bit longer to cook, they keep their form. The texture and flavour of green green lentils are unusually delicate and mealy. They are therefore appropriate for soups, sides, vegetable bakes, and similar recipes.
- Split Black Lentils With Skin: As contrast to soup or dal, whole urad dal is used more like a chilli or stew. These beans, which resemble lentils, have creamy white interiors covered in black skin. The black skins give whole urad dal its powerful, earthy flavour. Best if submerged for around four hours or overnight.
